WHO GOES THERE? 2nd Edition

Finicky Fans, Video Query, Easter Eggs, and...BOX ART!

Good day, all you beautiful backers! We've got a good bit to cover here, but we'll try to get through this quickly so you can get on with your regularly scheduled...whatever else you were doing. 

As we recently announced, Anthony has designed a KALLAX-friendly "Deluxe, Deluxe" box capable of holding the game and all of the expansions (both original and 2nd edition). We got a lot of enthusiastic responses from folks stoked about the artwork on the box, but of course—Kickstarter being Kickstarter—there are always going to be some contrary opinions. Watch the video below to see our, um..."solution."

Speaking of videos (and updates in general)...how do you feel about the frequency of ours? Too much? Not enough? Or just right? Get all Goldilocks on us, if you feel so inclined!

On another note, kudos to Patrick for finding the hidden message embedded in our last update! Thanks to his sleuthing, a Fate card for our upcoming game "Endangered Orphans: The House of Rath" has been unlocked! 

Those familiar with our past campaigns know we sometimes like to include a little lagniappe for an upcoming project, and that's exactly what this is. We're excited to provide it to anyone backing at a tier that includes a game or an upgrade pack. Give Patrick a tip of the hat, why don't ya?

Oh, now might be a good time to mention: All joking aside, WE ARE GOING TO GIVE YOU A CHOICE OF BOX DESIGN! (Why do we do this to ourselves?)

If you're backing at a tier that includes a "Deluxe, Deluxe" box, you'll be able to choose in the survey manager which box you prefer! For those who dig the new art, you can go that route. However, if you prefer the look of the original game, you'll be able to choose a "Deluxe, Deluxe" version of the Outpost artwork. For those who have no idea what it looks like, here are the two options side by side.

We happen to love both versions, and we're excited to be able to offer you a choice.

Social (Distancing) Sugar Goats and the Beast-y Boy!

What time is it? IT'S MAMAFRICKIN' SOCIAL SUGAR GOATS TIME, PEOPLE! 

You didn't think the lack of a single realistically achievable sugar goat during this campaign meant we wouldn't have sugar goats of the social variety, did you? The video below will get into the nuts and bolts of how this part of the campaign is going to work, but first let's do a fly-by of the basics. Though our previous backers know exactly what this is all about, some of those new to the Certifiable way of doing things may need a bit of catching up.

"Sugar goats" are how we refer to stretch goals, and so our "social sugar goats" refer to social stretch goals. (We won't go into the whole "sugar goat" explanation right now, or we'll be here all day. Ask a veteran backer and they'll probably explain it better, anyway.)

And now...on to the video! (It's Key-less for those of you who have an aversion to those with feltism.) 

So, to recap, if you want this Beast of a card right here...

Here's what needs to happen:

• Buy a gift card to support a business you love.
• Take a photo of your gift card and the graphic below. (Print it out or display it on your device; we're not picky.) Post the pic in a comment on our pinned Facebook post (or email your pic to Cory at [email protected] if you're not on Facebook).
• If 1 to 49 of you buy a gift card to support a business you love, only those fine folks will get this card. If 50 or more of you do it, every backer will receive this card! Think of it this way: PARTICIPATE AND YOU'RE GUARANTEED TO GET THE CARD!

 A few final notes...

If you really want to up the ante, buy a gift card for yourself and for someone else. (A couple of ideas: an out-of-work substitute teacher, service industry employee, or overworked healthcare professional.) 

Buy a gift card to a place that means something to you. And please tell us why it means something to you in your comment. Sure, we're a bit rough around the edges on the outside, but we're all ooey-gooey nougat center on the inside. We're imploring you: Touch our ooey-gooey nougat center.

GUILT TRIP?

Well, that happened. We were starting to think Anthony had turned into the THING!

You'll now see there is a new pledge level added to the page for those of you that couldn't live without your precious Deluxe, Deluxe box that fits everything under the sun.  

UPGRADE PLEDGE LEVELS

If you have the original 1st Edition Deluxe game, are looking to upgrade to 2nd Edition, plus you want the four new characters and want it all to fit in one Kallax friendly box, then here's your chance to switch to the DELUXE, DELUXE UPGRADE PACK for $75. You'll get everything you need from the Upgrade Pack Plus 2 Expansions tier, but instead of the sticker sheet, you'll also get a brand new board, too. This new box that holds all 12 characters is a LIMITED EDITION. If you originally bought the Base Game and don't yet have the 1st edition expansion characters, you'll sill need to buy them separately. The new DELUXE, DELUXE UPGRADE PACK comes with the four 2nd Edition expansion characters only (Barclay, Benning, Caldwell, Connant). 

NEW BACKER PLEDGE LEVELS

If you are already in the OVERLOADED or McGREEDY'S BASTARDS pledge level, you don't have to do anything. Instead of sending the Base Game plus 4 Expansion boxes, we will send you the one limited DELUXE, DELUXE BOX. If you are upset we are making this switch and would actually prefer 5 boxes, then message me when you complete your survey after the campaign. Otherwise, you are all set. 

For those of you that are new to Kickstarter, you can switch pledge levels at any time during the campaign.

The Key To Upgrading

Hey everyone!  

Now that the weekend is over, time to get back to work and for employees to earn their 'Key'p! But in the spirit of respecting your time, you probably shouldn't watch this update. Seriously.  In fact, I'll just tell you there's nothing to learn here. Move along.  If you are used to Kickstarter updates that give you good informative information, this isn't one of them and just tells you the same stuff we've already said over..and over...and over.  Have a great week!
